Renee Higgins, Web Developer/Administrator for the City of Greater Sudbury, will show us the basics of web design, and what to consider when building search engine friendly, lead generating website.
About ReneeRenee has obtained a Bachelor in Commerce and Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration from Laurentian University. For the past seven years, she has been a Web Developer/Administrator with the City of Greater Sudbury and has over ten years of web development experience. She is especially passionate about citizen engagement and is involved on several cross-departmental teams at the City. She also leads the City's Open Data Program, which recently ranked third in Canada for municipalities under 300k population in the 2017 Open Cities Index (OCI) rankings. In her spare time, she volunteers with many non-profit community organizations, such as Ladies Learning Code, Maison McCullough Hospice and the Copper Cliff Curling Club. She is also a Director with Sudbury Code-Op, a new organization which aims to make Sudbury the programming capital of Northern Ontario (and maybe more!).
