NORCAT Selected as One of Ten Northern Ontario Mining Supply and Service Companies to Set Up Shop in Elko, Nevada

Elko, Nevada – NORCAT is happy to announce the opening of a new office in Elko, Nevada. This initiative is in partnership with MineConnect, with the support of Ontario's North Economic Development Corporation (ONEDC), with funding from FedNor and the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC). NORCAT is one of ten Northern Ontario mining supply and service companies selected to expand their operations to Nevada.

MineConnect will lead the opening of a storefront in Elko, Nevada, planned for fall 2021. Given the importance of the Nevada mining sector to Northern Ontario companies, this initiative will allow the region's mining supply and service companies to establish a local presence in Nevada to fill various gaps within its supply chain.

"As global leaders in skills training and development, we are excited to bring our knowledge and expertise to the Nevada mining industry," said Jason Bubba, Chief Operating Officer of NORCAT. "Establishing our office in Nevada reinforces our international presence and the value of Northern Ontario's mining eco-system."

"Today, more than 20 minerals are mined in Nevada, and its production of gold accounted for over 76 percent of the U.S. total. These staggering statistics make Nevada the ideal location to provide our skilled labour training and development programs, along with our advisory services to enhance the productivity and safety of mine workers in Nevada both on the job and at home," added Bubba.

The office is expected to open in the fall of 2021. NORCAT will be joined by nine additional mining supply and service companies including, HARD-LINE, Inovinta, Jannatec Technologies, Maestro Digital Mine, Nordic Minesteel, Rock-Tech, Symboticware, The Hurley Group, and Walden Equipment.

The project will allow participating companies to take advantage of the benefits available through the incubator to then venture off on their own, allowing another stream of companies to set up shop in Nevada. The program, which is being undertaken in partnership with the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines Trade and Investment Unit, will support upwards of thirty companies over the course of the project.

"The Nevada Mining Industry has struggled for years to fill various gaps within its supply chain; we are thrilled to have top tier companies from a world class mining district establishing their U.S. based operations right here locally where they can provide goods and services that have traditionally been difficult to procure," added Sheldon Mudd, executive director of NNRDA. "We anticipate multiple benefits arising from this initiative. First, the Nevada Mining industry will be able to source goods and services from local suppliers rather than global providers who often do not have the United States best interest in mind. Next, it will create jobs and generate new tax revenue ensuring that more of our mining dollars remain in the Northeastern Nevada economic eco-system. "
