Toronto, Ontario – March 2, 2026 — At PDAC 2026, NORCAT and Core World Foundation Corporation (CWF) announced the launch of CORE-PACT: Peru Applied Capacity Training, a new international initiative designed to strengthen mining expertise, safety, and innovation capacity in Peru.
CORE-PACT reflects NORCAT’s growing global reach and commitment to advancing responsible mining practices worldwide. By delivering hands-on, industry-aligned training to Peruvian engineers and faculty, combining technical excellence with long-term institutional knowledge transfer.
This initiative will provide advanced training in underground and surface mining systems, ground control and ventilation, mine safety and risk management, environmental remediation, and mining innovation technology. Training will follow a blended learning approach, integrating classroom and underground experience with applied labs and industry briefings, backed by Canadian mining expertise.
Core World Foundation Corporation will lead binational coordination and institutional engagement, working in close collaboration with Peruvian public universities, regional authorities, and mining companies to ensure that the knowledge generated through this initiative is not only transferred but systematically embedded within operational, academic, and regulatory frameworks across Peru’s mining regions.
CORE-PACT represents a scalable capacity-building platform connecting Canadian technical expertise with Peruvian universities and mining stakeholders. The program is designed to institutionalize best practices in safety, workforce readiness, and innovation, creating a sustained pipeline of technically trained professionals and strengthening long-term Canada–Peru collaboration in responsible mining.
"CORE-PACT represents the power of global collaboration," said Jason Bubba, COO of NORCAT. "By combining Canadian expertise with strong institutional partnerships in Peru, we are building capacity that will drive safer operations, stronger environmental stewardship, and long-term impact."
"This partnership reflects a shared vision to elevate academic collaboration into long-term institutional capacity," said Ricardo Torreblanca, President of Core World Foundation Corporation. "By strategically connecting Peruvian institutions with Canadian expertise, CORE-PACT will serve as a catalyst for safer operations, accelerated innovation adoption, and higher environmental performance standards across Peru’s mining ecosystem."
