New Directors’ Breadth of Experience Bolsters the Board’s Business and Technical Expertise
Sudbury, ON. NORCAT, a global leader in the development and provision of skilled labour training and innovation services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Dunlop, Mike Garbutt and Nancy Guay to its Board of Directors. Each new member brings decades of experience in corporate leadership and innovation and strengthens the board with backgrounds in engineering, business administration and technology.
Steve Dunlop brings extensive technical corporate management and operational experience to NORCAT’s Board. Beginning his career in 1996 with the Ontario Geological Survey, Steve has worked in a variety of positions in the mining industry, culminating in his current role of General Manager, Canada for KGHM International. In this role, Steve is responsible for directing all safety, environmental and administrative functions for KGHM’s operating and non-operating assets within the region. Steve’s dedication to the mining industry is furthered by his volunteer position on the Mine Manager’s committee and Board of Directors for the Ontario Mining Association (OMA).
Mike Garbutt adds significant experience to NORCAT’s Board in business administration and capital project management. After twenty-five years in the mining industry, including senior leadership tenures at Glencore, KGHM, Stantec and IAMGOLD, Mike was named Chief Operating Officer of Clean Air Metals in May 2022 with the mandate to develop the Thunder Bay North Critical Minerals Project. An active Board Member of the Ontario Mining Association, Mike is Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt trained and has led significant business improvement engagements over multiple mining organizations.
As Vice President, Technology, Optimization and Innovation at Agnico Eagle, Nancy Guay’s extensive technical and operational expertise is a valuable addition to NORCAT’s Board of Directors. Prior to her current role, she held several other key positions at Agnico Eagle, specializing in business strategy and technical services. Over her twenty-year career, Nancy has also worked as a consultant with SNC-Lavalin in Montreal and as processing plant director for ArcelorMittal.
