Job Position: Junior Health and Safety Consultant (Full-time)

Location: NORCAT - Sudbury

Duration: Full Time

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 Annually

Junior Health and Safety Consultant (Full-time

Reporting to NORCAT’s Chief Advisory Officer, the Junior Health and Safety Consultant will play a lead role in the development, implementation, and delivery of NORCAT’s WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program (HSEp) to its members. This position is focused on helping organizations build and continuously improve their health and safety programs through the Excellence Program framework. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge in occupational health and safety with strong facilitation, program design, and client advisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program (HSEp) for participating clients
  • Develop, implement and oversee the delivery of products and services for the WSIB HSEp
  • Provide education, advice and program support to client members on the development and implementation of health and safety programs as a WSIB HSEp Provider
  • Create resources, tools and presentation materials for client members to assist with successfully meeting the program requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate to ensure the program content is effectively and consistently delivered
  • Collaborate with WSIB consultants and partners and recommend marketing and recruitment strategies
  • Support other NORCAT Advisory projects as required, including the development of client-specific training content

Requirements / Qualifications:
Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Two years as a technical writer, researcher or equivalent experience demonstrated by a portfolio of work
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant area of specialization (Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources)
  • A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) is an asset
  • Experience working within the mining or construction industry in a health and safety capacity
  • Experience in developing health and safety manuals is an asset
  • Professionalism and demonstration of integrity and honesty while performing responsibilities
  • Excellent research, grammatical and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent relationship building, customer service, organizational and analytical skills
  • Particular attention to detail
  • Strong oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills/ability to work to deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Job Position: Field Integration Engineer / Technologist

Location: Greater Sudbury (travel required, in-person)

Duration: Full Time

Position Description:

We are seeking a motivated engineer, technologist, technician, or electrician with strong practical skills and technical knowledge. This position combines hands-on field installation with technical design support and documentation. You will install and commission our systems in mining environments, while also assisting with design tasks and creating technical documentation to support ongoing projects. Applicants with strengths in either area are encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities

  • Install and commission AI-based safety and productivity systems on mobile mining equipment and stationary infrastructure
  • Perform electrical and mechanical work such as sensor mounting, cable routing, and wiring
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during field deployment
  • Assist with design by updating wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation procedures
  • Create technical documentation, reports, and manuals to support future deployments
  • Communicate with mine personnel and provide structured feedback to the engineering team


Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering or Technology, and/or experience as a technician or electrician
  • Strong hands-on skills in electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience creating technical documentation and using design tools for schematics and diagrams
  • Knowledge of Linux and computer networking is an asset
  • Able to work independently and safely in underground, surface, and remote environments
  • Valid G-class driver’s licence (required)
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including internationally
