Atlas Copco

First in Mind. First in Choice.

Since 1949, Atlas Copco has been developing modern solutions for customers in more than 180 countries around the world. In Canada, the company employs more than 750 people in 200 locations specializing in construction and mining equipment.

Mining is one of the most competitive industries on the planet. Mining companies and mining operators rely on advanced technologies to compete, profit, and prosper in the global marketplace. Companies like Atlas Copco are helping to revolutionize the industry with leading-edge solutions that are making mines safer, more productive, and highly efficient.

Atlas Copco was able to take full advantage of NORCAT’s Underground Centre to test, refine, and demonstrate some of its most recent advancements in mining technology. The remote frequency identification systems allow above-ground tracking and location of miners, vehicles, equipment, and anything that is moving within any mining operation in the world.

“NORCAT provided Atlas Copco Exploration the environment to test new products, combining the safety of a laboratory and the working conditions of an operating mine. Using the Underground Centre enables us to perform more controlled experimentation than is possible in our customer’s site. The NORCAT team has supported us with excellent assistance to set up the tests with safety as their number one concern.”
