CENGN, Canada's Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks, drives technology innovation and industry growth through our testbed, technical expertise, talent development, and partner ecosystem. Through its projects, CENGN enables Small & Medium Canadian Enterprises to test and validate promising technologies, removing barriers to product commercialization and accelerating market growth.

The CENGN Smart Mining Testbed at the NORCAT Underground Centre, part of the Next Generation Network Program, provides access to state-of-the-art wireless communications within a working mine. This helps companies develop and commercialize new technologies for the mining industry, such as wearable sensors for detecting poisonous gases, drone mine mapping and automated ore sorting.
